10-Day Bowron Lakes Adventure Canoe Trips

Outside Magazine writes… “The Bowron Lakes is one of the 10 best Canoe trips in the world."

These 10-day Bowron Lakes guided, all-inclusive canoe trips are world-famous. Bowron Lake Provincial Park is a large wilderness area situated on the western slopes of the Cariboo Mountain Range. The Bowron Lakes is considered the quintessential lake canoe trip experience in Canada. The 116 km route, through the ruggedly scenic Cariboo Mountains, is comprised of 6 major lakes and a series of connecting streams, rivers, and portages. The portages on the Bowron Lakes which account for about 10.8 km of your trip, are made easier through the use of specially designed carts that allow canoes and equipment to be wheeled between lakes. We complement our paddling with some short hikes to view the Isaac River cascades and the impressive Cariboo Falls. The route forms a rectangle through the stunning Cariboo Mountain Range which provides drop-dead gorgeous scenery and vistas ideal for wildlife viewing and stunning photography opportunities.

Besides its natural beauty, the Bowron Lakes are a wildlife sanctuary. Our groups often see beavers, bears, otters, and moose feeding by the waterways. The Bowron River estuary is a birdwatcher’s paradise with an immense variety of bird life, including coots, mergansers, widgeons, mallards, and Canadian geese.

While on the circuit, you’ll find there’s plenty to see and do besides paddling, although the sights from your canoe are exceptional, so make sure you bring your camera. The lakes and rivers along the circuit are open to fishing, and you’ll find the areas plentiful for bull trout, kokanee, rainbow trout, and lake trout.

Campsites set aside for our sole use ensure the solitude necessary for a meaningful wilderness experience.

What our Clients Say

“We had a wonderful, most amazing time, and we are still boring our friends and family with the photos of the Bowron Lakes. Thank you both VERY much for all your hard work, patience, and humor. You are both excellent leaders and we would love to come on one of your trips again.”

John & Sally B, UK

“I just want to thank your team for the amazing trip I had on the Bowron Lakes. Georgia and Victor our guides were incredible…. I traveled alone and made friends and had a great time … (the guides) ensured that every day was a joy and the food was outstanding and there was always plenty to eat. I’m still not convinced that there wasn’t someone in the forest releasing wildlife on cue as they seemed to know what was round the corner on a regular basis. As for the scenery. I live in Ireland and have traveled extensively throughout the world, so I have seen my share of beautiful scenery. I can honestly say that waking up each morning knowing that I would be spending another day in such beautiful serene and peaceful surroundings was an amazing experience. I believe the only word I can use to describe it (I’m aware it is much over used) is awesome.

I would highly recommend your company and the Bowron Lake trip to anyone who is considering this type of holiday. Thank you for what turned out to be the most fulfilling trip I have ever enjoyed.”

Mike S, Ireland

“Let me start by making sure that our collective appreciation of your trip and your guides to the Johnston Strait this last week gets official. Simply put, for my art just about every expectation was not only met but well exceeded. Thanks for that!”

Patrik M., Switzerland
